Willianny’s 20 Rules for Life

18 days ago, at 10:18 p.m. on November 7th, 2024, I turned 20 years old.

In honor of this, I thought I would share with you today my list of the 20 things I try to live my life by. They’re very short, very direct rules, but they’re also open to interpretation and can present in your life however you want them to. You just have to dig a little deeper to see how abstract they are (because truly- they’re very specific and straightforward). These 20 rules are things I’ve learned throughout my now 20 years on Earth that make my life better and really make it my own, and maybe they can inspire you to write down your own set of rules. I personally keep mine in a mini notebook that I carry with me everywhere I go, filled with doodles, factiods, and many ideas I have. With that, here are Willianny’s 20 Rules for Life.

  1. Make bad art.

  2. Love good people.

  3. Wear weird clothes.

  4. Read children’s books.

  5. Watch documentaries.

  6. Dance badly and dance often.

  7. Write obsessively.

  8. Listen to live music.

  9. Walk barefoot.

  10. Own physical media.

  11. Visit the public library.

  12. Be loud.

  13. Know how to throw a punch.

  14. Go to the ocean.

  15. Be fearless.

  16. Eat lots of watermelon.

  17. Learn local history.

  18. Clean up the beach.

  19. Laugh when kids laugh.

  20. Yolo (you only live once).

With Love, Willianny
