Boo! to YOU!

I went to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party! I reigned in the start of October with a fun fun fun night of candy, meet and greets, and friends!!

So if you don’t know, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party is the Halloween event that they do in Magic Kingdom; they run it from Mid-August to the beginning of November. I had the absolute pleasure of going in 2023 for my friend Bella’s birthday, and I knew that I wanted to go again this year.

I got my ticket last minute, and bought it for September 30th, the last date with available tickets. Luckily enough, my friend Victoria was also going that day, so my party group went from one to three!

I had a Mirabel dress hanging up in my closet that I got because it was 50% off, a pair of blue round earrings I got for Christmas, and enormous green glasses that I own for some reason? So I scrounged up a costume and I was on my way!!

So, when Victoria, Clara, Javi, and I got to Magic Kingdom, we were ushered into the party lane and we saw Cruella DeVil, and my friend Chris! Our first stop was going to be Fantasyland, but on the way there, we passed the Mirabel and Bruno meet-n-greet area, and my friends made us stop to meet them. I was so nervous because Mirabel is one of my top ten favorite Disney characters, but I’m so glad we stopped!!! They were so cool and they seemed so happy to see me pop out from behind my friends dressed as one of them!!! It was the sweetest interaction.

After we met the Madrigals, we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic because there’s a treat line there. I had the sweetest surprise when I walked in, Dj and Tasha were manning a treat bin together!! I was so happy and excited to see my lovely fantasyland friends. We got our candy from them, then we went to the front of the hub to watch the Hocus Pocus Villains Spectacular, a.k.a. the castle show! It was a long show, about 30 minutes, but it was really cool!! My favorite part was Sarah Sanderson, my favorite of the three sisters.

After the castle show it was about 8:00 p.m., so we booked it back to adventureland and went through the treats line before getting on pirates. We went through the same treat line three times, lol. Luckily, pirates was a walk-on, so we were on and off quickly. We didn’t have much time to kill. After that, we met Jack Sparrow!! He was crazy but so fun to meet!

After hanging with the captain, we went back to fantasyland, but not before stopping in frontierland and liberty square to get candy at Country Bear and The Diamond Horseshoe. we went through the Philharmagic line one more time before going to Princess Fairytale Hall, where we saw the Evil Queen before getting more treats! I saw more of my work friends and then we were off to one of the main events for us: The Thotful Spot.

Seeing Winnie the Pooh as a bumblebee, Tigger as a pirate, Piglet as a butterfly, and Eeyore as a clown was 1/2 of our Not-So-Scary nonnegotiables. The only thing is, we were feeling pretty stressed about time- at least, I was. It was 9:45 when we got in line, and the attendant told us it was about a 60 minute wait. As much as I wanted to meet the friends, my number one priority was watching the parade at 11:15, and our original plan was to camp out for a spot by 10:45. I restlessly waited in line, and finally it was our turn to meet them. We were all a little bit rushed, because we all wanted to be front row for the parade, and I wish we could’ve given them our undivided attention. Nevertheless, they were the CUTEST characters I’ve ever met. It was absolutely worth the wait and I wanted to meet them so badly and I’m so glad I did. My boyfriend, Gabe, my friends, Victoria and Derek, and I all have a designated character: I’m Piglet, Gabe is Eeyore, Victoria is Pooh, and Derek is Tigger. It’s perfect that we all have a different favorite of the main four. Piglet as a butterfly was something that I needed to see in my life.

After we met the friends, we BOOKED it to main street and fought our way down until we found a good spot. Javi’s main objective was to meet Jack and Sally, so while he did that, we scoped out our spot. Luckily, Victoria found a perfect spot right at the end. I really, really, wanted to watch the whole Boo to You parade, but I especially wanted to focus on the Wreck-it-Ralph unit. I was the most excited for it because I’m the biggest fan of one of the sugar racers, Jubileena Bing Bing. I’m literally her BIGGEST fan. She reminds me of my dear friend Sophia, almost like I’ve never seen them in the same room (if you catch my drift). Luckily I saw my sweet cherry bomber dancer, front and center, and it was the highlight of the whole night.

And that was the end of our night! We stopped in the Emporium and met back up with Javi, and then we jumped on the monorail. It was such a fun night!!! The only thing that I didn’t get to do that I really wanted to was meet Princess Daisy, but it’s okay. I saw her in the parade as dressed as Sarah Sanderson, because of course she was. I was so exhausted but it was a great night with great people. I had so much fun and it was worth every penny for the memories. It really was not so scary!

xoxo, Willianny
